Rekap EF 16.7: ‘HONESTY’

Post tantangan yang akan direkap adalah EF 16.7, “Honesty is the best policy, isn’t it?”

So, is honesty the best policy?

Rina menegaskan dalam tulisannya,

“It’s not about people making lies or being dishonest to me. It’s more about me saying true words and trying to do good deeds.”

Setujuuu 😀 .

“Keeping some things private about who you are, such as your birthday, your kids (if you already have one), your address, etc, is allowed.

But that doesn’t mean you are sharing the FALSE information on your social media. It will mislead those who read it.”

Yap.

Ngomong-ngomong soal “allowed” seperti yang dikatakan Ryan, so what is allowed? What is not allowed? (related to honesty and privacy in the online world?)

Ruth Nina’s rules with honest blogging:

  1. Be as honest as you’re comfortable with.
  2. Be as honest as the society allows you to.
  3. Consider to compromise when you realize that your standard for truth may be different with that of your audience.
  4. But compromise only the standards, not the truth.
  5. Doesn’t mean you have to follow someone else’s standard though.
  6. It’s okay to have things left unsaid…
  7. … or create an anonymous blog for the unspoken pieces. Everyone has alter ego. Well, Shinichi Kudou does.
  8. Cite your sources properly.

“If there are some rules that require deadline or some strict rules then I will obey them;”

“If I have to review a product of food I will be honest telling what I have had felt and tell from the good and bad sides point of view.”

Kalo kata Dani sih,

“It is another example of dishonesty. It is unfair for the people who finished their post early and submit it but then lost the competition because someone use more time as he/she pleased ignoring the rule.”

“I need to inform the reader of my blog that I got paid for the post so that my reader can decide to use the product or at least read my post fully aware of the benefit from my review/recommendation I get.”

Tapi sekali lagi, seperti yang ditulis di post mba Ruth tadi, bisa jadi, standar yang kita miliki, berbeda dengan standar orang lain, “consider to compromisebut compromise only the standards, not the truth.

Baiklah!!!

“To me, I need to stay true to myself. I won’t write anything that is not true.”

“Once you lie, you’ll need to lie to cover up all the lie story…”

Cheers!
